Daytrips outside Amsterdam, Amsterdam

Favorite thing: Marken is a lovely seaside village that can be reached by boats not far from Amsterdam. I took a bus and then the boat, to arrive in this very rural and cute place.

Favorite thing: Buy some clogs! Great souvenirs!
I bought a few in the form of key chains & everyone loves them :-)))

Favorite thing: On the banks of Zaan, you can check out these:
1) The 'De Bleeke Dood' floor mill.
2) The 'De Ooievaar' mill.
3) The 'De Schoolmeester' paper mill.

Favorite thing: Visit a small village called Volledam, in the countryside near Amsterdam, you'll discover the netherlanders as they are.

Fondest memory: Floriade is a 'Flower Park' 20 minutes from Amsterdam. Simply amazing.

Favorite thing: Ohhhh...Windmills..They are so beautiful!! I visited a village called De Zaanse Schans, not far from Amsterdam where I could see lots of them.

Fondest memory: This picture was taken during our boat trip from Marken to Volendam...It took about half an hour...The weather was nice and we could find nice boats, as this typical old one, on our way...

Favorite thing: You must cycle through the mean streets of Edam - just kidding, it was absolutely lovely, very quaint and idyllic!

Favorite thing: Yes, I know - tourist trap, but its all fun! When you see a big set of clogs just lying there, of COURSE you have to clamber in and take a photo!

Fondest memory: You cannot say to have been in Holland if you've not seen a windmill !!!
Here is one... in the area of Zaandam, north of Amsterdam.

Favorite thing: Take a photograph of the giant clog at Zaanse Schans.

Fondest memory: Well, its one of my favorite photographs. I feel like a child again.
