Favorite thing: There are plenty of bars and cafes around Amsterdam that offer free Wi-Fi. Personally I usually use the Irish bar at De Witte Tulp (The White Tulip) hostel on Warmoesstraat where they are more than happy to let you plug into their electric as well. Obviously you need to buy something (which is never a problem for me!) and to get the access code from one of the staff. Beer prices are quite reasonable and if you get peckish they also offer a sort of Irish-style pub menu.

Woermoesstraat is the street that leads to the Red Light district from Centraal Station and The White Tulip is about halfway along - watch out for the Irish tricolour.

Favorite thing: IF you'd fancy a beer or two, come to Sportsbar Alcatraz; the cheapest beer in town! Oh and football matches, pool, free internet, play your Ipod, smoking room inside... PLUS GREAT STAFF!!!!! On the van Woustraat 5, in the lovely neighbourhood The Pijp. Near to the famous Albert Cuyp Market, so after shopping u can warm up. C u there... Kiki PS I don't work there, just a big fan!!!

Favorite thing: Don't worry about been off line during your trip, you will find a lot of internet coffes. One is the most popular color Orange, is big and they have some of them near tourist places at Amsterdam dountown
