Red Light District, Amsterdam
visit the redlight district! Go to the coffee shop 'The Grasshopper,' and mellow out with some strong coffee, good conversation, and a joint! And contrary to some comments by some members, it is NOT dangerous in the least---nor does it even have the appearance of being dangerous! There are tourists everywhere---women, children (during the day), elderly, etc. I even saw a group of nuns strolling around, TRYING not to peek a glance at the sex shop displays, or the lounging prostitutes (most of whom are stunningly beautiful). I know this is politically incorrect, but hey...its the truth!
Fondest memory: Sitting at some of the cafes with my twin brother and father, just drinking a huge glass of heineken beer, and watching all the very fit people walking or bicycling by us! Or else the coffee shops of the red-light district...sitting in a smokey coffee shop, sharing a pipe of hash with my brother. Or else, watching the throngs of men of all ages approach the prostitutes of all descriptions; groups of young men prodding their buddies to undertake this 'rite of passage,' and slapping them on the back in a congratulatory manner upon their emergence from the girl's chamber! Or watching older, timid tourists nervously, and for the first time, bartering with a girl for a fair price!
A must would be the Red Light District if you are a male. The cruise through the verious canals if you are a lady....or with a lady.
Fondest memory: The serenity of the water. The whole city has canals weaving in and out. This seperation makes every block seem like its own island. The air is fresh and the sounds are relaxing.
Go to the Old part of the town...the red zone...and absolutly as much coffeee shops as you can...They're all perfect!
Fondest memory: Actually after so much coffee shops...it's probably you wont remember so much...hehe...you know what I mean :)
Take a stroll in the red light district. It's not threatening - just crowded. Biggest irritation are groups of drunk British guys egging on their mates.
Whatever you do, don't take photos of the girls - a large bouncer will grab your camera and rip out the film. We saw it happen to someone.
The red light district also called: the Wallen.
Most women are from south America, Africa and Azie. The drug- and women business are going hand in hand in this area.
She came to the window, opened it wide, bared her breasts, and waved enthusiastically... The members of the American band "The Outlaws" acted predictably...
Fondest memory: Lord help me to never quite grow up...
Fondest memory: The sex shops!! Lots of them in the Red Light District. For those who don´t feel offended, it is a nice place to have fun and laugh a little...
Favorite thing: Stay withing the horseshoe. If you're curious about the Red Light District, go during the day, as it's seedy & dangerous, even more so at night.
you must go to the red light street,
it is the center of European sex culture,
and you will go to countryside to watch thw windmill.
Fondest memory: the real man statues in the street.
