I always look for things I like to do (go to fleamarkets, visit secret shows, eat with the locals) so I spend hours scouring the net. In Amsterdam, now you don't have to. The best kept secret for fleamarkets? You travel all the way to the new IJburg area, every month you can find locals selling their stuff next to the city beach. A perfect combination! For more tips and trics, you can find a girl named Mike to make you a map of A'dam especially for you. She will also find you a place to stay and will greet you personally. Maybe also a great idea for business trips?!

Amsterdam is not a beach destination but still we have one. In Amsterdam we have a big housing shortage so therefor we recently finished 3 artificial islands in front of the coast of Amsterdam where they are gonna build around 45.000 appartements. These islands are called IJburg. On one of those Islands they made a beach called Blijburg aan Zee. It's a nice beach with a beachbar and on hot days a lot of people go there. So if you have some days left in Amsterdam and it's hot u could check it out there.
