    Rembrandt's House

Rembrandt's House, this has several interesting aspects, unfortunately, of necessity, few "original" works by Rembrandt but a "snap shot" of his life where and how he lived, how he worked and life in general "way back when".
In his day, artists where they ones who "chronicled" the "visions" of life. (George Eastman had not been born yet!) If you came to Amsterdam to try to absorb some "culture and history", this is a good place to note the flavor of life in earlier days.

I (and you) may refresh our memory about Amsterdam and Rijksmuseum even without leaving Moscow. We should go to the Main Building of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and see “Portrait of an Old Man”, “Portrait of an Old Woman”, “Ahasuerus and Esther”, “Incredulity of St Thomas”, "Christ Clearing the Temple”/

Every time I visited this museum since my childhood I admired by these masterpieces… Never knew that I would be able to watch Rembrandt in Amsterdam…

You can hardly walk five feet in Holland without encountering Rembrandt, but slightly off the beaten path, you can visit his house (het Rembrandthuis), which holds a vast collection of his etchings. Plans are in the work to remodel his house to show it as it was when he lived there, the rare artist who acheived fame and fortune in his own lifetime.
