If you're a fan of English-style fish and chips, then Al's will be a treat for you. You can get your choice of haddock, cod or plaice. The chips are cooked well and you get a generous portion.
Al's isn't fancy; just good.
Favorite Dish:
fish & chips with haddock.
Proper English chippy in the centre of Amsterdam.
Serves everything you would expect from an English chippy such as Pukka Pies, Vimto and mushy peas - oh and fish and chips!
We were wandering around, feeling really hungry but not really knowing what we fancied to eat. Then it appeared - Als Plaice!
I wouldn't normally advocate eating anything remotely like it was from home while on holiday but for a quick fix when you're tired and undecided you can't beat it.
Massive portions, reasonable prices. Seemed popular, nice and clean. Al (I'm presuming it was Al?) was very friendly. Room to sit and eat inside.
Favorite Dish:
Fish and chips - obviously!
