This is a good inexpensive Indonesian restaurant near the Leidseplein. We choose this one because it was the only restaurant in the whole street where nobody was standing outside trying to welcome you into their restaurant. So for me this meant that it had already a good reputation and didn't need the extra attention. And indeed, it seems to be very popular, especially amongst the young people going out and wanting something to eat late at night.
The restaurant looks like a hut. There are not many tables, they are close to one another and the seats aren't really comfortable but the food is just delicious. They don't serve alcohol.
Favorite Dish:
I liked the Nasi Rames special. This was a "mini" rice table: one plate with different small portions of Indonesian specialities in combination with rice (nasi). It is a good way to taste several dishes.
There are a lot of cheap good restaurants in Amsterdam, we found this one near Leidseplein. During the week the kitchen is open till 2am and during weekend till 4 am !!!!
Favorite Dish:
We ate Ayam banjar (10,75€) and Ayam curry, same price. Nice place, good food, good service, what else do you need in Amsterdam ;)
