My husband and I are from the US and have traveled 8 or 10 times to Amsterdam and have taken guests to Indrapura many times as the highlight of our trip. Our last trip, we took 6 guests from China, the trip before, 2 from Israel and 2 from the States. Always we go at least 2 or 3 times while in town during our 10 day stay. The meals are incredible. Their Rijsstafel with the lobster is what we always get and their suggestion of wine to accompany is always a perfect selection. The staff is professional and friendly. The service is impeccable. We met Michael the first year that we tried the restaurant-- and quite frankly he keeps us coming back-- for it is easy to see that it is under his guidance that this establishment runs as it does. We have a handful of favorite restaurants across the globe. This one is in the top three. Anyone who misses the opportunity to spend an evening spoiling themselves with the ambiance, lovely view, excellent staff, and most importantly the outragiously delicious culinary variety of their Rijsstafel (get the lobster - it is well worth it) has missed the best that Amsterdam has to offer. If you have never experienced Indonesian food--you WILL love it. Indrapura is Indonesian at its best.
Favorite Dish:
The Indrapur Rijsstafel with the Lobster. Unbelievable. Rachel Ray--The who hosts a cooking show in the US agreed..she went suggested Indrapura too last year. We found it years ago, and what can I say...we will be returning every year.

Upscale Indonesian cuisine with all of the traditional dishes. The restaurant is decorated to reflect its Indonesian heritage, with corners, levels, and nooks creating a warm ambiance. Service was very good!
Note: Go to the website and print the 10% discount voucher on the Rijsttafel menu for finishing your dinner and paying the bill before 8 PM! !
Favorite Dish:
Rijstaffel menu was excellent... nothing original, but traditions done up right!
In Amsterdam there are lots of Indonesian restaurants but this is probably the best. It's in Rembrandtplein. The place looks great and the staff is marvelous, sooooo nice. We tried different specialities, some really spicy, some milder, but all delicious. And not expensive at all. If you like great and authentic Indonesian food, go there and treat yourself.
Favorite Dish:
Rice with coconut sauce. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the dish.
