Luden, Amsterdam

Brasserie Luden is a high quality restaurant with branches at Utrecht, The Hague and Amsterdam.

The building has entrances at both the Spuistraat and the Singel canal; at the latter the restaurant section is located.

The Brasserie section is like a café where you can have some easy food; the Restaurant section offers three course meals from Euro 30.--.

After we’d put our luggage to the hotel, we took a walk on the Spuistraat and we picked this restaurant to have a lunch. It seemed lovely from the street. Well, it was. It has a bar and several different halls. It has a weird and kitsch decoration. There were classical lamps and pop-art pictures on the walls. It seemed bizarre; maybe I was so tired because of the flight.
Although there were just a few people, a waitress welcomed us and showed us a table. I ordered a vegetable lasagna and salad. Both were delicious.

Favorite Dish: Lasagna

Our hotel concierge urged us to try this restaurant so on our very first night we made a reservation adn diner here. The restaurant was packed with locals and there was party of 15 people across from our table but not once did the service suffer.

This was a wonderful local restaurant on a canal, with lunch in the bar area off a street without the canal, and dinner served in the more elegant dining area with views of the canal....very nice dinner ambience, very comfortable and casual lunch as well...service was friendly and prompt... the food was terrific/delish! I definitely recommend this restaurant for either lunch or dinner - whatever the mood...it fit it.

Favorite Dish: Funny, my favorite thing was the soup - I had their tomato soup - and it was served with delicious hearty whole grain bread in a basket with a side of pesto dipping/smear...something as simple was so delicious. Great for lunch on a cold and damp winter day....
