It's a small restaurant, filled with pictures of mothers. The ambience is amazing, the waitress very nice.
Moeders (= Dutch for mothers) opened in 1990. The owner, Jurriaan, asked all his guests to bring a plate, glass and cutlery during the opening. With all those different plates, wineglasses and cutlery the wooden tables in the restaurant are still set today. In the same time Moeders started collecting pictures of mothers.
Today, 19 years since the opening, the walls in the restaurant are filled with hundreds of framed and unframed pictures along with antique pans, plates and biscuit tins. All together an informal, cosy and homey place where everybody feels welcome...
Moeders is known for several Dutch specialities (hachée, suddervlees en stamppot). If you want to enjoy a typical Dutch treat they serve a Dutch ricedish. You don’t get any rice, but all little bits and pieces of traditional Dutch home cooking. And for those who don’t want to enjoy all of this, there are plenty of other things to chose from the extensive, international menu.
Moeders is open 7 days a week and has a nice, sunny terras from may untill september. For those who want to suprise their mother/wife on her birthday Moeders has a small suprise for her!
Favorite Dish: I had a carrots mixed with potatoes typical Dutch food (stamppot). With meat ball, sausage and bacon, delicious!

At Moeder's the walls are covered with fotos of various women who are mothers. The china, glassware and cutlery are all mismatched, donated by customers, inherited from their own mother's kitchens to accompany the women on the wall. This goes back to the early days of the restaurant which was casually begun by housewives who would coordinate their own culinary skills and crockery, serving good homemade food eventually evolving into an official restaurant. I guarantee that this is one of the most charming establishments you will ever enter. The food is superb. Prix fixe, around 25 euro. I had carpaccio, deer steak, dutch apple pancakes and copious amounts of French red wine. Perhaps they hung my mother's foto. Go and see if you can find it and have the carpaccio. The best carpaccio, ever.
Favorite Dish: there is a candy dish on the bar. they will scold you when you take candy or they will put candy in your mouth or both.

‘Although there are lots of Mediterranean dishes on the menu, the ‘very nice waitresses’ serve grandma’s simmered chops and other Dutch specialties which ‘vary in quality.’ ‘A good place to have dinner with your mum.’ When you make a reservation tell them that it’s her birthday and she’ll have the ‘night of her life!’ The cookie jar which comes with the coffee ‘completes the homely atmosphere.’

Very nice restaurant for the whole family. Children are welcome. They can play in a room, where a large window let the parents keep an eye on them. Of course there are special meals for them (the children).
I'm sorry, but the website is only in Dutch.

The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere - even candles on the tables. The staff were very helpful as well. I also had some very nice company.
Favorite Dish: I had deep fried cheese, a lovely pasta dish and some wonderful Dutch beer. Why mention Dutch beer - well back home I do not normally like beer or larger but this tasted a lot better, I think the analogy in the difference in the taste is 'night and day'

Moeders is a small but very cozy restaurant.
The interior walls are full of pictures of mothers and you are invited to bring your own.
