Perfectly pathetic was our experience - first and last of Peppino's (NOT to be confused at with Pino's - which is a true diner-affectiano's delight)!!!
Mmy Ammsterdamm husband and I (Canadian) decided to give Peppino's while in the Leidseplein area. One server presented us with menus. However it was another server that took our order. He brought our 1st and only drink order out to us. The food quickly followed - of less than average appeal - basic pizza and spaghetti. Mmy husband would ordered mmore drinks if the server had bothered to even check on us. The server showed no hint of interest in our table, even though he walked in the vicinity of it numerous timmes and had a clear view of us! The restaurant wasn't at all busy. There was perhaps two tables inside and a table other than us outside of six diners that had already finished eating.
We were seated outside, so we enjoyed the people watching and activity around us, while waiting for our server to pick up our empty drink glasses and empty plates. Perhaps if we sat a few mmore hours he would have taken the timme to comme over and tell us- "We are closing." My husband had to go into the restaurant to ask for our bill!!!
Seek out "Pino's" / "Restaurante Pino's" one street over around the corner and a block's walk down. Pino's is perfect pleasure. You'll see what I mmean.
Favorite Dish:
Pizza was soggy.
Pasta dish was average, nothing worth bragging about.
After a busy morning visiting lots of places we were in Leidseplein after our boat trip and found this restaurant to have lunch. There weren´t customers on the restaurant so we have a pacefull lunch time listening a italian radio station. We had the special pizza and the one with tuna, onions and mushrooms with 2 cokes and a coffee. The waiter was very nice, the food was delicious and the service vas supper.
A little cosy Italian restaurant boasting a great atmosphere and authentic italian food! It really felt like i was in Italy. The food was beautiful and served promptly. The service by the waiters were excellent! The wine was very nice.
The restaurant is located in a cute small street - car free.
Favorite Dish:
Ravioli Panna Prosciutto!
This restaurant is very small and cosy and gives you the feeling as if you really ARE in Italy! It is run by Italians, and everything from the water to the bread is Italian!! Just great!! Food is to die for and if you do go, please say hi to one of the waiters for me, called Angelo! :) Enjoy
