“Choose only one master, Nature.”
— Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669)
Serving a cuisine of French and Dutch foods, Brasserie Schiller should not be confused with its next door neighbor Café Schiller.
Opened daily from 07:00 to 22:30 Brasserie Schiller is located in Hotel Schiller facing Rembrandtplein. This Art Nouveau landmark eatery dates from 1912 and is graced with oak paneling and beams, etched glass and fabulous stained-glass windows (see photos #3 & #5). Paintings by Frits Schiller, the artist who built the hotel, hang on the brasserie’s walls.
We happened into the Hotel Schiller for dinner a bit by accident. We weren't disappointed... good service and a delicious, Continental meal with some good desserts. The hotel itself is quite elegant, but the restaurant was not imposing and everyone was dressed rather casually.
Favorite Dish:
Large dinner menu... venison steaks, beef tenderloin etc.
