We had three wonderful dinners on this trip to Amsterdam. I would rate Van De Kaart as the best of the dinners - fine dining in an elegant surrounding with very professional cooking and excellent service. This is not an 'everyday' sort of meal, and it's really for special occasions because of the high price. I would call the cuisine 'Modern Dutch Cooking' as the chef has taken the best of Dutch ingredients but tweaked them into dishes that are beautifully presented and have an extra zing to them.
Favorite Dish: Everything we tasted here was excellent. Try the Shrimp croquettes and the prime rib of beef. We were too full for dessert but complimentary cookies and chocolate brownies came with coffee.
