I must admit to being impressed with this little chain of busy and buzzy stir-fry fast food places. The system is really simple, the food delish, service friendly, relatively cheap and you can eat in or take away for the same price (from 4.90 euro for a basic vegetable stir-fry).
The menu comprises a 3-step formula: firstly select your base, choosing from 3 varieties of noodles, 3 varieties of rice or stir-fry vegetables; secondly choose what other ingredients you want, including various vegetable options, and finally decide on your sauce. The meal is then cooked in front of you and there you go - eat-in at the communal benches or take-away to eat in the park or wherever - chopsticks provided.
There are (at the time of writing) 4 locations around the city: Kolksteeg just off Damrak; Warmoesstraat going out towards the Oude Kerk; Reguliersbreestraat just off Rembrandt Plien and Liedsestraat on the main drag towards Liedseplien.
Favorite Dish:
The way the menu is constructed means you pretty much create your own meal, according to your own tastes, but my personal favourite is the egg noodles with chicken and prawns and finished with the Saigon (garlic and black pepper) sauce - nice and garlicky.
Just one small proviso - as always with chopsticks make sure you are sober enough to attempt their use OR wear a bib ;p
Wok to Walk is great is you are walking around and exploring the City. There is one off of Dam Square on the main shopping street. It is one place where you can get fast food. You pick what type of meat or veggies that you want, pick rice or noodles, then pick your sauce. They cook it up in front of you and put it in a container with a plastice fork. You can either sit in there to eat , if there are empt talbles or walk around with it. It is delicious.
Favorite Dish:
I had the Shrimp, wheat noodles and Terriayki sauce. There was quite a bit of of food and it was great. I would definitly recommend this place
This resturant/take-away is always busy - well it was in the time we were there. The menu is simple - pick what noodles/rice you want, then pick your favourites, whether you want chicken, shrimp pork...what veg you want whether its brocolli, baby corn, beansprouts - or everything on the list and then pick what sauce you want....curry, sweet and sour, black bean and soya, hot. Once you have picked you can eat in or takeaway - or do both...eat in and then once you can't fit any more in, takeaway for later on. The menu is priced per item that you pick. I think that the noodles/rice is 5 euros (or there abouts) and then the veg etc is 1.5 per item and the sauce is free and all drinks are 1.75 euros. The chefs are on show so you can see your food in preparation! And the portions are absolutely massive, i don't know how anyone manages to finish a portion off!!! Its open in the afternoon and serves until midnight, which is just as well as the main dining times is always busy!

When i went i had noodles and vegetables with chicken, brocolli, beansproats and baby corn with blackbean and soya sauce. Yum Yum! And J had rice and chicken with brocolli but with sweet and sour, we both had a heiniken each and it came to 19 Euros! not bad huh!
I had a chicken rice noodle with sweet&sour souce. It was very good and a big quantity of meal box. If you are alone or need quick and cheap eat, it's good.
