Dont be put off by this, his chocolates are out of this world. He works and serves in the shop himself, together with another long standing assistant. They wil make up and gift wrap the box, to your specifications, there and then. Normal price e2/3 per 100 grams. which is very reasonable, Gift boxes start around Euro 7 up to as big as you want. He , Robert, and the staff speak many laguages, but if he dosnt speak yours, you can always point.!! Better Chocs and much better service than some of the more prominant Chocolate shops.
also sells a range of pre packed confectionary, boxes, choc bars etc. The loose ones displayed on the counter are best.
2 to 3 euro per 100 gs. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: Damrak 65. 1012LM Amsterdam.Phone: 020-4210427Directions: from Dam Sq up towards Central Station, about 2 mins walk. on the left side.Website: - Other Contact: Fax 020-6240764

Puccini Chocolates is not to be missed if you enjoy fine chocolates. They are masters at making fine chocolates... I buy some every trip and bring them back. Theres only two locations, so it's indeed a special treat!
Go to the website for a preview, but the real fun is actually going there.

I love chocolate. ...... I love Nederlands. Now I must be living right, because my absolute favorite chocolate is sold only in Nederlands/Amsterdam: Puccini Bomboni I was tempted to put this tip not under shopping but under "General necessity information or Activities." No day goes by for me in Amsterdam without enjoying at least 2 puccini bonbons. I like Godivas in Belgium and lots of other chocolates, but to me, there is nothing like Puccini. They do not seem to be available anywhere else (please let me know if they are), and they don't ship to u.s. or sell on the web. Not only that, the very nice and extremely helpful lady in the puccinibomboni on the Singel told me even if I ship them myself (very expensive), they wouldn't arrive in the same condition..... they do not support or recommend their product after it has reached the ripe old age of 8 days. (only fresh ingredients in the secret recipes, and few if any preservatives of any kind). Oh well, guess I just have to move there (another good reason). Shown here is the interior of the other/main location @ Staalstraat 17, but since I was staying in the Jordaan, I always went to the shop on the Singel.
My absolute favorites are the koffie, but many love hazelnut, etc. They have so many varieties to choose from I'm sure there is something there that will light up just about anyone.
My koffie bonbons were 44Euros/kg (about $26/lb at December '04 rates). On one stop at puccini I bought .090kg (about 7 bonbons) and the bill was 3.96Euros ($5.05) or about $ .75 each, a steal for the best chocolates in the world. This is a prime shopping intersection in Amsterdam if chocolate & trichomes are your priorities: Singel and Oude Leliestraat near the eastern boundary of the Jordaan. On your left: the best chocolate in the world (pucinni koffie bonbons); On your right: trichomes from grey area; Adjourn to the terrace for grins.
pucinni koffie bon bons; grey mist crystals;
Total expense: maybe $35. Definitely a cheap date. Leave a Comment

Dutch’s famous chocolate is Droste. Be careful with the shop where you buy chocolate. I bought mine at some shop for tourist and when i ate the chocolate i noticed that it had been through heat – you notice that “whitish” cover over the chocolate. So i felt miserable looking at my favourite dark/bitter chocolate and it didn’t as good taste as usual, … which was a pitty because Droste chocolates are good. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

In Staalstraat, during our VT walk I saw this shop crammed with people waiting to be served. Well, the chocolates are huge and are probably very good or they wouldn't be so popular :-) I made a picture through the window.
Well, chocolate of course. I saw them made by hand in the next window. It's also a restaurant (see Restaurant tips). This is new discovery for me, its a pastry and choclate shop close to where i used to work. So it was most tempting to go there,haha. Its a small shop with a big variety, the things on display will make you mouth water and your eyes pop out. Because it doesn't only taste good, there is also taken great care about the appearance of the cakes and pies.
Mirlitons, that are bite size cakes with all kinds of flavours, walnut, almond, berries etc. Very very tasty.
As much as you want. I bought a few mirlitons for eur 2.86 and a strawberry pie for 5 pieces for 13.50 eur. Thats not exactly cheap but that taste will make that up for me Theme: Food and DrinkAddress: Utrechtsestraat 109Phone: +31 20 6234833Directions: A little of Rembrandt square, in the direction of the Frederiksplein.

There are two Leonidas Chocolate shops in Amsterdam, this is the most central. The shop was up to the usual high standard for this chain, immaculate and with pleasant staff.
Having been a patron of these chocolates for several years, I can highly recommend them. They are our favourite, and are made with fresh cream, so do need keeping in a cool place and need to be eaten within a couple of weeks (not normally a problem!).
Bought 2 boxes, which cost E10.5 per 500g box. Leave a Comment Theme: Food and DrinkAddress: Damstraat 15, 1012 JL, Amsterdam.Phone: 20-6253497Directions: Within the Central Old Town area.

Puccini Bomboni is a famous local chocolate shop. Actually there are two shops; the manufacturing by hand location is at the Staalstraat branch. At entering the shop you will be overwhelmed by the chocolate aromá and resistance is futile. The chocolates are characterised by combining various herbs and spices, unusual alcholic drinks, fruits with chocolate.
