The PC Hoofstraat and the district near the museums (the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum) has been titled the best shopping street in Amsterdam and it houses many of the posh designer shops such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Valentino and D&G. Although also more mainstream shops such as Benetton, Shoebaloo, Kookai, Replay, Diesel and Mexx have their shops here (as well as elsewhere in the city).
PC Hooftstraat was created at the time of the construction of the Vondelpark. Initially, the street was an ordinary residential street, and the houses along it were based on designs by Dutch architect Pierre Cuypers who designed buildings such as the Dutch national museum (Rijksmuseum) and Amsterdam Central Station. The street is named after historian, poet and playwright, Pieter Cornelis Hooft.

If you're in the market for upscale shopping at its finest... come to P.C. Hoofstraat close to the Rijksmuseum. It reminded me of Bond Street in London or Madison Avenue in NYC. The stores are elegant, exciting and expensive!
Five minutes from the LEIDSEPLEIN and next to the famous VONDELPARK you will find the MUSEUMKWARTIER.
Apart from all the MARVELLOUS MUSEUMS the Museumkwartier is also THE place for EXCLUSIVE SHOPPING.
Van Baarlestraat, Beethovenstraat, Hobbemastraat and P.C. Hoofdstraat form the city's center for EXCLUSIVE FASHION , a shopping area where all international fashion labels are represented the same as you will find in Chicago, London, Paris, Milan and Barcelona e.g..
Let yourself be treated or...treat yourself to something VERY SPECIAL....
