This is a novel thing to do. Visit a windmill in town which has been turned into a micro brewery. It's not at the top of the attraction list in Amsterdam and I can now see why as there weren't many people there and they didn't have much to offer.
Anyway, we did it....the beer was cheap....and we spent the time locating bottles of beer that we knew from the vast range of bottles on the shelves surrounding us. Check out the other pix inside - I found my local Queensland beer XXXX and also saw a strange beer - Bone Dry?... haha.
Very far from the center , on a non-touristic place you will find a lovely windmill , one of the few that left in Amsterdam.
Inside the windmill there is a beer factory , one of the loveliest i've seen.
The beer is Organic and is made in the windmill.
the place is closed in the morning so you should check visiting times and on Saturday the place is open to public and is heavily crowded with happy , sometime drunk , local people.
The beer is not expensive - you can taste 6 100-150cc glasses for something like 5 Euro.
I am always sorry to give a negative review but this time I can't really help it. I went with friends to this place with friends because it had a positive review on a werll known travel guide. I guess they have not updated this guide for ages ! The place is run down, with a boring atmosphere and - worst of all - the staff is simply very very rude. Rarely been treated this bad in the Netherlands. Make yourself a favour: go elsewhere. This place is far from the centre, the beer served is average and the servixce is lousy.
