Smokeys - Picture courtesy of WWW... by Bushman23 Smokeys coffee shop is a fair walk from the red light district, but its definitely worth making the effort to get there! Pool tables, a fussball table in good condition, excellent latte's, and very good weed... throw in friendly and helpful staff, recipe for success! Get yourself to Rookies. I go EVERY year around November and will be returning this Friday. The Rookies is situated just off the Leidseplein (or Led Zep as one of the guys once put it to a taxi drivert!) on the road between Burger King and the Sports Cafe. There is a pool table and a wicked atmosphere. Get the chess set out, buy a freshly squeezed OJ and roll yourself a phat one :-) Relax.......

by curiosone An honour mention to the first Amsterdam's coffee-shop;The Bulldog. There are several shops, but I've seen only that in my district... Quite local but....rock music and grass I think it's not the best double....de gustibus! Good choise of hash and grass, with some excellent "hash cream".. Then...it's really little and with a DANGEROUS ladder. Crowded with tourist Leave a Comment

Our favorite cafe by far...in all fairness when we really like something we stick with it....oh ya, me being the hitch and myself......anyway, Rookies Cafe is a place weve hung out at quite a lot...and the three times weve been to Amsterdam Rookies was always the first stop and the last stop....well and a few in between.. Given the fact they are one of the few who serve both smoke and booze it has been a good place for us...the atmosphere is quite chill (which coffee shop isint?).....but there is certain combination of laid back pub and smoke shop...the tunes ease into the walls and range depending on how hte bartender feels.......they do though play full albums in the afternoons....we got stuck into some Floyd one day...the crowd is mixed with many coming and going after a drink but also core people who are around for a couple hrs...clientelle...ranges .....mostly locals or return visitors...there are though, tourists too...a good blend though, and the atmosphere eazes everyone into one big melting pot. Play a game of pool or grab one of the many table games for patrons to use....prices are decent...smoke is excellent...and they let you check out a couple types before purchase...pre rolleds are available and meaty! Ive put some more pics in Rookies Pt#2. oh and where it is???......just off Leidersplien...15 minute walk from the square...look it up on a map...easy enough..there is only one of them. Enjoy! We went to a coffee shop. I believe it was called the 420 Cafe but I could be wrong. It was pretty busy and the herb was good even for a second hand smoker like me. I didn't smoke but being around it makes you just as high I think. Its a nice relaxing time. And don't worry about trying to find a coffee shop---they are everywhere. Leave a Comment

3 top coffee shops that are a must while visiting Amsterdam. 1)The Greenhouse (Very friendly, great weed, place to camp outside & smoke) 2)The Dolphins(Very friendly, cool decore, great weed, upstairs is pure only, but downstairs is a lounge are where you can also smoke cigs) 3)Barney's Lounge(Very friendly, great weed(I suggest the Blue Cheese strain) a tad bit small, but never really over packed/crowded) Leave a Comment

Grey Area at night by Kennymac Great little coffeeshop know for its quality weeds, also a cannabis cup winner 2007 for there chocolope. They have large bongs to use, this i find does the trick. As for the size of the place its tiny, enough room for a table a couple of chairs and a small shelf along the wall with bar stools,so all in all it has everything you need *UPDATE Nov 2008* Try the Yellow Cab WOW!
