    Competing for space

The best I can describe Dam Square is "Die gezoem van die bye" It is a madhouse of people milling about, trams, bicycles and pedestrians all competing for space.

    AMSTERDAM DE DAM

Many street artists earn a little by performing on the Dam in front of the royal palace.
Here's one guy pretending to be two little guys.

The Dam square is the center of Amsterdam. Damrak street goes from the square to the north. Here you can see a 'human statue' and the palace in the background

See the beautiful palace right in the center of the city.
To the right of the palace there's a church with a strange looking clock. I should have taken a pic but was too busy feeling the chill.
