Deco Sauna, Amsterdam

Stopped here one afternoon after reading all about it----it was smaller than I expected---the steam room had about 5-6 of us and it was crowded but comfortable---very hot and steamy....then on to the infrared heat room which was empty for me---then a cold shower and a wwalk around which showed that folk like to have a steam or a sauna then curl up on a bench or a small bed and take naps! There were probably 10 people taking naps in different fairly open areas around the building---there were massage rooms and a small whirlpool and a couple of other sitting areas---21 euros was not too different from a $25-30 day charge at many health clubs in the US, you just have to get naked with everybody else, even in the unisex changing rooms and showers. Not a problem for me------

Fantastic mixed sauna - great for an hour or two relxation.
Built out of genuine Art Deco architectural salvage it provides a unique atmoshpere for chilling out. Just ten minutes walk from the Central Station it is one of the city`s secrets.
