The Hash museum opened its doors to public in 1985. It is located right in the middle of theRed Light District. Inside the museum you can find a world of information about the plants. Through a large number of pictures and posters you get a good impression of the cultural, religious and medicinal aspects of the plants. The museum also houses a collection of traditional pipes.
Exactly as titled, it's a museum for the various usage of hash, marijuana and hemp with an emphasis to medical benefits and various products made out of hemp. Lots of visual and virtual explanations and details - quite interesting but not very entertaining....you know what I mean.
Located along the river in Dewallen, the entry is I think EUR6.
My cousin (who's a local in Amsterdam) took us to visit the Hash, Marijuana & Hemp Museum. We hadn't even heard about it and my cousin had never been to visit it - but we thought it sounded cool so decided to check it out....and we're very glad we did too!
It is a very interesting insight on the sheer amount of things that can be done (and have been don in the past) with hemp, such as Body Shop soaps, Adidas shoes, etc.
It definitely gives a good insight on things! If you have a half hour or so to spare I would definitely recommend checking it out!
This is a cool place to check out. Kind of small, and obviously geared towards tourists. But the fact that they have a "Grow Room" with live plants is surreal if your from somewhere oppresive like the US! If your in the area, and have a few minutes to kill, check it out.
Anothe must for any Pot Head!!!! A look at the history of "weed", what can be more interesting then this. Anything you wanted to know from where it came from to whos smoking it.
For knowing everything about this world.
Incredible! In this city there's a museum for every
stuff..
Commercial but interesting..
Whilst in amsterdam you must visit this museum , it has great info and history relating to this popular plant dubbed the evil weed.
The musem was a bit interesting but it's their garden that's so fun to look at. Pictures say so much more than words.
