    Wolendam

    Wooden Shoe Market

Almost 96% of all tourists come to Amsterdam and 92% of them remain in the city during their stay. Only 4% take a tripe outside Amsterdam. I warmly recommend you to take trip to Wolendam and visit the shoe makers, Windmills and cheese market. End your trip with a visit to the fishing Island Wolendam and taste the special fish they have to offer. See the beautiful nature of Holland and take a rest from the city crowed. The trip takes 5 hours and must be booked some days in advanced. The price is about €23 and it's worth each penny.

Hidden behind facades is experience called Holland

This 3D-multimedia-show gives you a nice impression of The Netherlands and is perfect for people that visit Amsterdam in a flash and still want to experience something from the rest of the country. Here you will meet the landscape with tulips, rivers and dikes. You will experience floading, windmills, wooden shoes etc. etc. etc. A taste of Holland within the city of Amsterdam.

Architecture and statues - great and old

by navlic Written May 27, 2003 11 reviews
    Oude Kerk steeple

The Oude Kerk has withstood the ages. Although burnt down, the current church is still quite old. The floor is an amazing conglomeration of tombstones!
