Nemo Museum, Amsterdam

For everyone, but especially kids, the NEMO museum is very interesting. It's a scientific museum, shaped like a boat. In summer it serves as a beach as well (from Friday to Sunday).
As my five year old nephew happily told me after his visit: 'I did all sorts of stuff!'. It is a very 'hands-on' museum.

The architect, Renzo Piano, is the same man who did Berlin's Potzdammerplatz and Tokyo Airport.

A good place to sit down for a couple minutes of rest is on the roof of NEMO (the big green ship-alike building close to Central Station). You climb the roof from the open air ships museum. From the top you have quite a nice view of Amsterdam.

Museums
The city has some fifty museums and many other exhibition areas. There are over seventy theatres and concert halls and dozens of places where performances are occasionally given.

By this time we were only about 15 minutes on our way. And starting to get to know each other. During this long walk there was ample time for talking!

I reckoned it is rare to get this close to traffic lights across a motorway. So I grabbed the chance and made a picture.

When we passed the Nemo the sound of cars resounded which was caused by the cars entering the IJ-tube just below us. In these windows one could see the cars reflected.

And the New Metropolis Museum needs no introduction. This high-tech (science) museum is simply AWESOME!
