    Ruth at the Rijksmuseum

We didn't have time to explore the Rijksmuseum but it's even worth visiting to appreciate the architecture. Centraal Station was designed by the same architect, P.J.H. Cuypers.

The Rijksmuseum’s main building is under restoration. However they are showing The Masterpieces of the Golden Age in the Philips Wing. The Dolls’ Houses on the ground floor is also a must see.

Kind of a Dutch national museum with a lot of Rembrandt, including "The Night Watch." Not as big as it looks as I understand there is some renovation but still worth the time.

Me in front of the Rijks

by Jenniferstarfish Updated Jan 19, 2004 9 reviews

I went to the Rijks on my first full day in Amsterdam. It was sooooo cold but clear and beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed the Rijks. You could spend several days just roaming around this museum.
