Very nice park it remembered me to the Hyde Park in London. I suggest you ti visit it during the week, because the weekends it gets really crowded and it really feels good to visit it more uqietly and contemplate the beauty of this park with ponds and the vegetation.
In summer there are free concerts scheduled in a scenario inside the park.
There's a place where you can buy water or something to eat.
Inside the park there's also those typical Amsterdam's "toilette facilities for men" (open air)
The biggest and most busiest park in town. Everyone happily together; parents playing with their children, young people talking and drinking, people jogging and sunbathing.... When the summer day gets too hot, it's the best place to be, even though it might a bit crowded sometimes.
South of the city centre you'll find vondelpark, its a beautiful green space where you can hire bikes, watch the wildlife (saw a heron basking in the pond), sit, relax and look at all the weird and wonderful things around and admire the grand houses surrounding the park. A youth hostel is located north west of the park and its the perfect place to stay as its near museumplein and leidseplein.
The best place to be after a hard day of walkign through Amsterdam, visiting musea or when you had a happy night.
Dont miss the website, you will love it. From past, to present, to future.
The park is here since 1864 ! With 10 million visitors every year it's the most famous park of the Netherlands. The Vondelpark is named after a Dutch poet.
Vondelpark is the biggest and probably the most known park in Amsterdam.
It's really nice place to spend a sunny (free) day. Though the park might be quite crowded on a nice day, you are left in peace if you want so. Have a picnic, meet a friends or just lay down and relax.
The Vondelpark, in the summer all kinds of theaterplays and music in the centre of the park.
Dancevalley in the Spaarnwoude recreation area is a dance event that is going to take place on the 5th of August.
Queensday on the 30 of April. Everybody dressed in orange.
A very nice English-style parc in the heart of the city. Ideal to go for a saunter in a natural environment.
If you are in Amsterdam try and make a visit to Vondelpark.
There are a lot of nice flowers, statues and ponds. It is a nice place to visit to get away from all that city life.
I have seen groups of meditationers, and other exercisers in the Vondelpark at all hours of the day----check by and see if you can join a group or just do your own routine-----
You will see trees & parks ewverywehre in Holland. Thet is the only way to preserve a city, village or town. Parks where to sit & walk.
