Tourist Office, Amsterdam
I had to miss KLM flight as my prev flight was delayed. KLM staffs were very supportive
and booked my hotel/next flights etc.
So I had some hours for sightseeing the next morning, I went to
Tourist Infomation at the airport to get some more information.
I had only 3 hours so I wanted to have a look at Amsterdam quickly.
The lady in TI told me I could get a return train ticket to Amsterdam for 12EUR
So I simply bought it.
But when I passed the ticket machine, so the sign that the return ticket was
much cheaper!!! I went back and asked for a refund but the lady said
she wouldn't do it. Well, so everyone,
DO NOT BUY any TRAIN TICKETS AT SCHIPOL AIRPORT TOURIST INFO.
The tourist office in the Airport donýt give the advices that you demand. They are only interested in selling you the programmed visits that they organice, not giving information to make your visits on your own.
And 2ý for the city map is, at least for us, a robbery. It shuld be for free
Unique Suggestions: Explain clearly that you will not make the visits with tem.
Fun Alternatives: Get a travel guide with the city map inclosed.
Don't go to the tourist office in the train station, it's always packed. Right across the street is another branch which isn't nearly as busy. Have four guilders so you can buy the map out of the machine if that's all you want or it's closed.
