The Amsterdam City Center Line (CSS) is a fast private bus service with a route through old Amsterdam. From 9AM to 1PM and from 2PM to 6PM the buses run every 30 minutes.
Prices:
One-way: 2 euros
Day ticket: 6 euros
This new CSS service replaces the former Stop/Go (and "De Opstapper" before that) GVB operated minibus that served the Prinsengracht, the outer canal belt; that service stopped at 01-01-2011.
When your feet might be hurting or you just want to have a look at the centre of Amsterdam from within a car and you don't want tp pay for an expansive cab try the "stop&go" (formerly known as the "opstapper", a cheap shuttle bus along one of the canals. You can hop on and off for just one euro.
The bus travels between the Central Station and the Stopera.
Businesshours:
Mo - Su: 8.30AM - 5.30PM
THIS DOES NOT EXCIST NO MORE SINCE 1 -1 -11
The stop and go is a small bus with 8 seats it drives at the Prinsengracht in both directions (unless it is detouring around deliveries and construction)
Waterlooplein - Prinsengracht - Centraal Station - Ruijterkade Oost - Oosterdok
Waterlooplein (front of musictheather/cityhall), Centraal Station (to Oosterdok at the Prins Hendrikplantsoen, opposite of the Victoriahotel, to Waterlooplein at the taxi stop front of the central west side), Ruijterkade Oost (near the dock of the river cruiseboats back of the Centraal Station north) and Oosterdok (at the Oosterdokskade opposite de Centrale libabry and the Conservatorium).
it is a pretty ride.
ticket 1 euro buy at the driver or your chipcard ticket from GVB public transport
Stop/Go drives 7 days a week every 12 minutes from 9.00 to 17.30 hour
The Opstapper is a minibus service that runs from Central Station to the Stopera (Waterlooplein Flea Market). At this point of writing, the city council is thinking of stopping this service, which I feel is stupid of them. All they have to do is promote the use of it more effectively. Anyway, it offers a picturesque trip along Amsterdam's more popular canals, the Prinsengracht. The great thing about the Opstapper is that it will pick you up and drop you off anyway along its route. Very convenient if you're going to Anne Frank House, or the houseboat museum, etc.
