The statue of a famous Dutch poet and writer, Roland Holst. Lived here from 9th November 1918 until his death in 1976. He became honorary citizen of Bergen in 1958.
One of his books I remember reading was Deirdre and the sons of Usnach. Pretty dramatic, I recall.

By the way, the chickens do not sell the icecream.....they just wander around like, behind the fence, a lama does and some guinnea pigs :)
