I had a walk from Broek op Langedijk to St. Pancras, and started on the Westdijk, passed the sheep overthere. Crossed the train-bridge and walked bank to St. Pancras.
The website gives you walking routes in Noord-Holland and sorry they are written in Dutch. I walked route 56

In 1887 there was in Broek op Langedijk the first sell by Dutch auction. You can visit the museum, see old costums and make a bid yourself on the vegetables. Just like the older days.
It's also a beautiful area to make a trip with a boat or a canoe in the "1000 eilandenrijk" (1000 small islands) In former days the farmers produced their vegetables on the small islands and transported everything over the water, even the cows and sheep.
A month ago I made a trip with a balloon and made some pictures of this area.

this special restaurant is designed like an old living-room from 50 years ago. You can have delicious cabbage with potatos, made the way they did 50 years ago. Mmmm...
While eating the host is telling stories about the historie. Upstairs is a little shop with old stuff, all about this area.
The host speaks Westfries, a Dutch dialect, sorry, no other language
Favorite Dish: potato with cabbage dish
