During the summer there is a fair in the city centre of De Koog. For kids it is a great atrraction to go to. My nieces did the haunted house. And they liked it when they got out!!

At Ecomare you will find 2 interesting things. Inside the building there is an exhibition about sea/birdlife. It is situated over several floors. Outside the building there are basins with seals in it. The seals are here because they were ill or lost in the sea/ocean. So, here at Ecomare they try to 'fix' the seals. When they are healthy enough, the seals are put back in the sea/ocean.
If you want, you can see how the carers are feeding the seals. There are 2 times they are going to feed them: 11am and 3pm. The carer will give an explanation about the seals. This introduction is only in Dutch. But it is worth to see it anyway (even if you don't understand Dutch).
Opening hours are:
Each day from 9am - 5pm (except from Christmasday and New Years Day).

March 2009. At "De Lange Muur" (named after the Great Wall of China). Very good buffet, good value for your money.
Favorite Dish: We had the buffet and got to choose from all the goodies they offered, and we rounded our dinner off with a large ice cream.

As one of my nieces name is Quinty, we had to go to this restaurant. It is a nice restaurant to go to. The front part had a light interior and behind that it was 'dark' interior. We had our seats in the front. My nieces got a Mexican hat.
The restaurant is open from 12 noon.
There is also a corner where kids can play.
Favorite Dish: The food was delicious. I had pasta which was full with nuts, tomatoes and other vegetables.
