Favorite thing: I guess one can take a tour around De Rijp in this typical canal boat. I'd advise you to get information at the museum. It was not used, I was here out of season.
Fondest memory: Information

Favorite thing: De Rijp is a pretty little village with an old history which can be seen in the old center of town. Many historic houses and the church are still there.
Fondest memory: This picture is taken just outside de Rijp in winter.

Favorite thing: The Town Hall and Weigh House in the center of The Rijp. I did not know this little village was once very rich due to the whaling trade.

Favorite thing: Right in front of the town hall there's a little bridge and a sluice. I always find that difference of water level fascinating.

Favorite thing: Standing on that bridge and turning east, you get a nice view of the Tuingracht. It must be lovely to live there.

Favorite thing: The museum sits between a canal (Tuingracht) and another water (which I haven't identified yet). Beautiful view!

Favorite thing: The big church inside is wonderfully light and spacious. The walls are mouldy though. There should be some restauration soon if they don't want to get worse.
