de Beurs eten & drinken: Casual and Reasonable
This was a enjoyable casual pub-type restaurant. We went on a rainy Saturday night and the cozy type atmostphere was a welcome change from the chilly outside. There was a big screen tv showing 70's music videos, however the sound was low enough that conversations were not affected.
The specials were German Mushroom Soup and two venison dishes. The rest of the menu had sandwiches, soups, burgers and entree's. There was a good selection for those looking for a variety of choices. We ended up both ordering the mushroom soup and then split a Tapas selection. The soup came in a large soup tureen, was creamy and had a good amount of mushrooms. It was very tasty and went well with the weather outside! The tapas had a about 7-8 different types of little snacks. They included: sundried tomatoes, feta cheese, cheese croquettes, baguette slices, olives, small sausages and meatballs.
The service was friendly and helpful. The servers spoke good English and were very interested in providing a good experience.
Favorite Dish: German Mushroom soup....hot, creamy and had a good amount of mushrooms.

Hotel de Fortuna: Cutes garden ever
The Hotel de Fortuna in the town centre of Edam has the cutes garden ever. The ideal place for having a coffee break in the sunshine surrounded by a lot of flowers.
The restaurant was nicely decorated as well and I guess it could be quite a nice place to stay overnight as well (didn't see the rooms though).
The toilet's worth a visit too ;-) It's upstairs (steep stairs - as everywhere in Holland) and inside the toilet there's a tulip painting on the door - what a great way of reminding people what to do next ... visit the tulip fields
Favorite Dish: The apple cake was very YUMMY!
