 | Haarlem Flights and Airline Tips | Tips 1 - 10 of 10 | | Unless you live in Europe, most likely an airplane will be the way to get to the Netherlands. During the offseason months is the best time to get cheap airfares to Amsterdam, typically good deals start in November and run through March. It is always cold and rainy this time of year but the tickets will make the trip worth it anyway, at 3 times less the rate of airline tickets in Spring and Summer months. The countryside has such beautiful scenery if you are lucky enough to fly in on a nice day. If it is very cloudy and rainy it is hard to see any of the wonderful country of Holland. A view of the tiny dutch houses from the airplane window, which now look even smaller! Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

The huge white puffy clouds over Holland look like mounds of feathers from the airplane window. So soft and marshmellowy looking, it is quite an amazing view, just breathtaking. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

The transportation by bus is organized very well. Lots of busses travel from and to the central trainstation. The busses depart on a very regular base and they depart and arrive almost always on time. To be continued... Leave a Comment

Haarlem has a very beautifull trainstation designed by architect D.A.N. Margadant. It was built between 1905-1908. I will tel you more about it in another chapter. The first railway track in the Netherlands was built in 1839. It's the track from Haarlem to Amsterdam. From and to Amsterdam central trainstation, it is at about a 17 minutes trip. Trains depart and arrive like every ten minutes. To the beach (Zandvoort) you can catch a train and it will take you at about 10 minutes. In the summer trains will go more frequently to Zandvoort, but during other seasons, there still depart like two trains an hour. Almost every town in The Netherlands has it's own trainstation and can be reached very easily by train. For more information about journey and price I advise you to check out this website: http://www.ns.nl/domestic/index.cgi It's in English. International trips (for example to Belgium) are possible as well. You have to depart from Amsterdam central trainstation in that case. For more information about journey and price of international trips, I advise you to check out this website: http://www.ns.nl/international/ It's in English. Leave a Comment

The Tempelierstraat and Houtplein are an important place in the city, since almost all buses come here. Not only city buses, but a lot of buses that can drive you through the whole area. The other important place for transportation is the Central Station. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus
