For salsa-lovers I can highly recommend Tuesday and Thursday evening.

DJ Valeriano plays salsa tunes. It's very busy during Tuesday and Thursday because these are salsa dance nights.

If you like to dance, or just like to drink something at the bar and take a look at all the nice dance couples feel free to enter. You can go there with a dance partner, but you don't neccesairily have to. Just ask someone to dance.

I think the other evenings at Kokonoches Caf? are not so special because there are not so many people and the music and public is different.

Most of the time the music is very nice here. Unfortunately the visitors are sometimes very young (17, 18 years old). Despite of that, this place is worth to pay a visit to.

Cocktails, cigars, tapas and salsa. This is a real cantina Cubana.

For only 5 euro they will serve you nice cocktails like mojito's, carpariñas en Cuba libres. Do you like another cocktail? Just ask them and they'll make it for you. Of course they also serve the good old beer (for example heineken).

The tapas are nice as well: Chicken legs, stiffed meat, salad, artichoke etc. All served with bread.

The music is nice, the people are friendly.

On Friday and Saterday evening there's a safetyguard at the door. This is to prefend annoying people from entering the bar.

Live music by diverse artists during weekdays (except for Friday) and on Sunday. Music: Jazz, blues, soul, r&b, funk but also wellknown hits.

Friday and Saturday a mix of soul, funk, r&b, disco (70's and 80's) and recent hits.

You can drink something at the bar or dance in the back. The dancefloor is small but used by many people. Friday and Saturday you'll find me on the dancefloor most of the time.

During the weekend (Friday and Saturday evening) it's very buzzy and hot here. It's worthwhile to take a look though, because the people are very nice and the atmosphere is excellent.

The bartenders are very friendly and work hard and quickly.

A securityguard is at the door during Friday and Saturday evening, to prefend annoying people from entering.

You can dress casual. The only things you shouldn't wear are sneakers and a trainingssuit.

I've been here a few times and although nothing spectacular the atmosphere is good. In the middle there is a big round bar, seperated in 2 parts and differnt heights and the side of the bar is covered with a zebra print. In the corner is a nice place where you can show your dancemoves. The music played varies a lot.

Directions: From Grote Markt walk into Grote Houtstraat and cross Verwulft. Go right on the other side of the street and after 150 metres you see the bar on the corner of the street on your left hand.

	Cinema Palace and Brinkmann Cinema's: Cinemas Tip Rating:

Haarlem has two cinema's that are centrally located in the shopping district.

You'll find Cinema Palace only a few minutes walk from the Houtplein in the shopping street Grote Houtstraat. This Palace only has 1 big theater so there are not many films shown here. Usually they do have the biggest movies of the moment.

Brinkmann Bioscopen (Dutch for cinema's) is located on the Grote Markt. It is bigger than the Cinema. but it is not my preferred one. I always check for the movies in Palace first. Reason is that Brinkmann is not very clean compared to Palace, and the screens are quite small too. Ususally I go to Amsterdam if my favourite movie is not shown in Palace.

Nice pub with live music various nights in the week. Also sports are broadcasted when there is an interesting game on. The selction of beers is ok, and the prices are not bad at all. The pub is quite large and you can even eat something here. Good atmosphere!!!

Don't forget Haarlems popstadium 'Patronaat' , a lot of local bands have their show here. They most of the time sing in english. You can also discodance here as much as you like. Usually the bands start at 9pm and play till 12 pm and after 1 am it's dancing all night long!

Enjoy a concert in the Concert building behind Bavo church in the center of town. Most of the time there all classical concerts, but sometimes you can also see local and international stars playing here. The concertbuilding has at the cashregister guides where you can find which concert is played when.
