Do you like playing snooker, pool or biljart? Then you must go to one of the poolrooms in Haarlem. The best one is the Snooker Academy at Wagenweg (Wagonroad). It is very big and has about 15 tables to play your favourite pool/snooker game. Second best is the Purple Pool at the Gedempte Oude Gracht. Here are about 7 pooltables in the center of town. The Happy Pool is a place for very young people (14-17 year old). They have three pooltables and one airhockey table.
Don't forget Haarlems popstadium 'Patronaat' , a lot of local bands have their show here. They most of the time sing in english. You can also discodance here as much as you like. Usually the bands start at 9pm and play till 12 pm and after 1 am it's dancing all night long!
Enjoy a concert in the Concert building behind Bavo church in the center of town. Most of the time there all classical concerts, but sometimes you can also see local and international stars playing here. The concertbuilding has at the cashregister guides where you can find which concert is played when.
The program of the theater you can get at the theater itself, the concertbuilding or the tourist information centre VVV next to the trainstation.
The girls refused to go into this one, saying it was a kiddie hangout and dive. Of course, I tried to go the next day for a lunchtime beer but it was not open yet. :(
More of a neigborhood pub but with a great selection of beers, especially the bottled beers from IJ in Amsterdam.
A real gem of a pub with a multi-roomed design including the Edwardian parlour-styled 'Parentier Room.' Extremely classy and cosy all in the same breath and a true must see in Haarlem.
