The rijsttafel (I think this means "rice table") is about 20 small dishes served on small appliances with burners to keep them hot. It is a sizeable meal. Two light eaters can share one for a small additional fee for the extra plate. It is busy with both locals and tourists, so reservations are adviseable. Even in April, we had to try 2 nights to get a table. They, like everyone in the Netherlands, speak English. It is a smalll but very lovely place as you can see in the photo.
Favorite Dish:
I would love to tell you what we ate, but there were so many different things, I can't remember them all. There was rice of course and several different kinds of meats and vegetables. It was all delicious. We had been here once before in 1994 and came again in 2003. You can tell by the smile on my wife's face that she is anticipating a great meal. She was not disappointed.
