Who expects good Mexican food in Haarlem? Well, this place has great food and the restaurant itself is a work of art. There are 2 or 3 beautiful Spanish arches and a bamboo birdcage with a huge and brightly colored bird inside (a macaw?). I resisted taking photos (don't always want to look completely like a hick tourist), but sketched two of the arches.

Favorite Dish: I actually don't remember which entree I had, but enjoyed it immensely. Also, had a small chocolate beer and was surprised to like it. Nice Calixto red wine. Dessert was incredibly good - flan with caramelized sugar and pistachios topped with whipped cream. Accompanied this with coffee fortified with about 1 or 2 ounces of Tia Maria. Left full and well satisfied.

Food in this restaurant is excellent. Sometimes you do have to wait a bit long to get it, but it really pays off. If you want to go to the cinema after you've eaten, it's best to visit the Brinkmann cinema first and buy a combination ticket for a movie and dinner in this restaurant. I believe this combi is every Monday to Wedenesday, but check it out!!!
