Go and see the streetartists in Haarlem. They are most of the time in the main shoppingstreets on saturdays. There are guitarplayers, fireartists, pianoplayers, orgelplayers and dancers. Everytime there is another artist. In summer there are several, especially in the Grote Houtstreet and the Grote Markt (Big Market, main town square).
When in Haarlem use your eyes, go exploring. It is very easy to find your way about and there are a lot of lovely things to see.
Although Haarlem is a city in it's own right - it almost seems like just a small town and there is somehting nice about that.
Exploring the streets, will bring you to some very interesting parts of the city. Lots to see in the little side streets and a photographers dream.
Our walk had now entered Jans stratt with its heritage buildings. We could clearly see the impressive church at the end of the street.
I said it's a quieter place than Amsterdam, seriously, cuz I walked twice in mornings and the streets are empty, no people, maybe one or two. (See pics) But nice streets though and quaint buildings.
Haarlem has many examples of typical Dutch gable architecture. The type of gable pictured is known as a step gable for obvious reasons.
Just walking around and seeing the sights, there is no telling what you might see. Even a beautiful rainbow!
Amsterdam is famous for its canals. But all old cities in Holland have them ! Look at the canals of Haarlem and endoy !
See the sights of the old alleys.
Much to be photographed for taking home that special feeling of old Europe.
