Laren Travel Guide

Dutch pancakes smothered in butter and icing sugar... poffertjes! I can't remember the name of the cafe but it's said to be rebuilt every year from scratch from May to September at the same location (Laren town central by the park). It has been around since the late 1800s (In summer, at least.)

The chefs make it on an open air stove with round holes on it, in front of the cafe. Great to watch 'em at work, works up an appetite :)

Them poffies should carry a health warning label though!

Favorite Dish: Poffertjes, poffertjes.. washed down with lots of tea

They are just darn good, straight off the stove!

But.. moderation is key.
