Down in the south , De Hors is the largest dunes and sand area of the island! By low tide, you feel like in the middle of the desert!

In the center of the west part of the island is De Dennen, a region of the dunes covered by a forest...it is very nice to bike through the forest even if the bike path is there a bit broken.

Den Hoorn is a nice picturesque little village in the South of the Island. You will see there a lot of old wooden buildings and a lot of informations about their history.

The forests and reserved nature areas on Texel are very beautiful. Due to a wonderful proliferation of bike routes, you can easily rent a bike and travel from dune, to forest, to field, to sea.
