The Doopsgezinde Kerk or Mennonite Church is a small church in one of Almelo's main shopping streets. The facade is not much bigger as the adjacent buildings.
The church dates from 1684 and started in a converted living room.
In 1732 the present front facade was constructed.
In 1751 the ceiling was reconstructed.
In 1791 an organ build by Friedrich Hellmann was .
In 1978 the complete building was renovated.
De Grote Kerk (Big Church) is the oldest building of Almelo. The oldest part dates from 1493. In 1738, 1873 and 1957 additions and renovations took place.
