Traffic is one of the first Dutch cities to supply real time traffic and parking information on the Internet.
The website below gives:
-Green roads when there's no traffic jam.
-Red roads indicating jammed streets.
Press the Center P and you get actual parking information.
The Almelo train station is an Intercity train stop on the railroad coming from Amersfoort-Apeldoorn-Deventer to Hengelo and Enschede, where the Dutch Railways provides the train service.
Furthermore it's a stop for:
- the slow train to Zwolle, serving Wierden, Nijverdal, Raalte and Heino in between.
- the slow train to Enschede, serving Almelo de Riet, Borne, Hengelo and Enschede Drienerlo in between
- the slow train to Deventer, serving Wierden, Rijssen, Holten and Deventer Colmschate in between
From 2007 works are oin progress to lower the railroad tracks into an open tunnel in the center of Almelo to allow the city traffic passing the trains without interference.
The works should be completed in mid 2009.
