Deventer is a railway crosspoint. Situated at the IJssel river the town has an impressive railroad bridge over the river at the main line from Amsterdam to Berlin in Germany.
Other tracks lead to Zwolle in the North and Arnhem and Nijmegen in the South.

Parking in Deventer:
The Deventer inner city is small and not really suited for cars.
There's a ring around downtown with many parking spots and garages.
Hourly fee is about Euro 1.50 per hour; some spots have limited parking time.
The Wilhelmina parking is the newest place, guarded parking 24/7.
Free parking is possible at the other side of the IJssel river at de Worp. You cross the river with the small ferry boat (only at day time!).
When there are big events (like the book market) better take a train to Deventer.
