It's a very big cinema with 10 moviehalls. The chairs are big and you can seat comfortable. You have much leg room. They also have loveseats, the armchair in the middle is left behind so you can hug as much as you want.
Expecially moviehall 3 is amusing, because they show a lasershow with loud music, smoke and lights. It's amusing and they show it before the movie starts.
So when you are in the neighbourhood and have an evening off; go and watch the movies.
You can also have dinner, or go carting/diving at the same territory.
HAVE FUN!

It's a pretty windmill standing on a hill in Lonneker, a little town next to Enchede. It's build in 1851.
Every saturdaymorning you can see how the mill works and they sell home-made flour.
You can walk around Lonneker and see the nice woods and nature around Lonneker-lake.

The "witte veen" is a area of outstanding natural beauty. There's heathland, meadow-land, puddles, woods and a lttle bit of turf-land. It's the home of many amphibians, birds, foxes and even big cows named "schotse hooglanders".
There is a walking-route marked through the area. You have to follow the blue-walkingtour of 8 kilometres.
The area is 295 hectare big and lies between Buurse (near Enschede) and de German border.
It's a nice area to walk, but stay on the roads and don't loose the trail because it's a very large area.... We did got lost in this area and couldn't our parkingspace back. We were at the opposite of the national park and had to go back for a long walk.
So remind the track!!!
Have fun.

Each year at the end of August or start of September the Enschede PROEFEET is held.
This is a culinary event were 30+ Enschede restaurants display and sell there food and drinks from tents.
The local currency are plastic coins that can be bought for as little as 50 Eurocents. A main course can cost up to 7 coins max.
My 2005 10 Euro selection was:
Tomato creme soup with farmer's bread
Melon with Parma ham
Steak with bread and garlic butter
Japanese chicken and Rice
Banana pancake with almond ice
Bavarois
Soft drink
See my T-logue for some 2004 PROEFEET impressions.

The Los Hoes Groot Bavel is a part of the Rijksmuseum Twente. It's located behind the main museum and must people don't notice it.
The Los Hoes is the traditional farm build in a way it could easily be taken apart and build somewhere else.
There is a permanent expostion about the Fireworks disaster that took place at May 13 2000. When walking to the Los Hoes you will pass the corner of the former disaster area, now being rebuild as the Roombeek cityblock.

Just like Amsterdam the city of Enschede has an Rijksmuseum. The museum was founded by the van Heek family, a local textile factory owner. Much of the artefacts are from the private collection of the van Heek family.
The museum has an historical section and one for modern art.
There's a separate section for exhibitions.
Also there's a museum shop, a cafe and a big library.
Opening hours: tuesday % sunday: 11AM - 5PM

The City Hall is at the heart of Enschede. From here the most interesting sights and shops are at a 10 minute walk.
On the City Hall square you will find "'t Ei van Ko".

Enschede is more a modern city but there are bits and pieces which have that old quaintness.
Such as the 'Oude Markt' (old market square).
This was a flying visit so I have no details on the church standing on the square.
