The Twente Airbase closed at January 1, 2008. Thereafter many plans ware made to transform the base to a regional airport, but in the mean time only glider planes used the airfield.

In October 2012 the former F16 maintenance facility (Hangar 11) opened as an indoor flea market.
The need for this was that the Hengelo Expo Center had closed (as it was going to be converted into a computer server center) and the alternative flea market at the Enschede Go-Planet had a limited floor space.

The airbase has enough room outside for parking and inside to have wide walk ways between the stalls.

Entrance Euro 5.00 (Adult); parking free.
