The Rijssen station is only served my the local Syntus train. The NS Intercity trains will not stop here, but the curve in the tracks here gives a distinguished move to fast trains passing.
The platform is placed in the middle of the tracks, in reach via the joined pedestrian/cyclist tunnel and the platform stairs or elevator.
The old station building lost its function. Tickets can be sold at the outdoors ticket machine.

The Grotestraat and Haarstraat are the two main Rijssen shopping streets.
There still are some very specialized shops there.
In between is the Schild square with some terrasses for food & drink and people watching.

Favorite thing: At the front end of the Schildkerk church is a bit hidden public toilet only for men.

Romans already had a settlement on the hill South of a wetland area in the first century AC. Later the area called "Marke van Rinse" was cultivated into agriculture and the highest parts and meadows...
Some friends of mine came for a visit and after having a lovely walk through beautiful fall coloured forest, we went to Rijssen .. perfect combination :-)
