At the West side of Tubbergen an impressive monument is placed on the hill at that side of the village. It's the Dr. Schaepman Monument.

Dr. H.J.A.M. Schaepman (1844-1903) was a poet, priest and politician. He was born at Tubbergen and later became a member of the Dutch parliament. He died in Rome.

The sculpture is made by August F.H. Falise.
