A small but cosy restaurants with lovely decos. Great food and highly recommended!
Let me tell you a lil story - Being a Malaysian, after touring around Europe for a month plus, I tend to miss hot and spicy food! We encountered this Indian restaurant, so we decided to try it out. Having an impression that hot and spicy food in Europe is nothing compare to the one in Malaysia, I decided to tell them to make it a bit hotter and spicier. They did as been told. It tasted good, but not as hot and spicy as I wanted it to be. So, the second time, we went back there again, and told them to do the same. And they did, but wasn't as hot and spicy compared to the first time we had our dinner there. So, the third time (last time before I went back to Malaysia), I told them that I wanted it really hot and spicy, and woa!...they really did. The food was really good, however my tongue almost caught fire! We had to get them to give us a jug of cold water and we even finished that too. After dinner, we felt so full and blotted coz of all the food and water in our tummy...*lol* It was really funny! Next time, I shall not be too naive, and be too adventurous when it comes to hot and spicy food! ;-)
Favorite Dish: a) Briyanni;
b) Vindaloo;
c) Mixed Kebab.

Amersfoort has a long history as a beer brewing city since the Middle Ages. An end came to this thanks to Heineken, a firm always willing to kill an old tradition, who closed the last functioning brewery, Phoenix, in 1969. The last director of Phoenix opened De Drie Ringen ("the three rings") in 1989, and it is this small brewery that now carries on the old tradition. They produce 7 different beers, some of which are seasonal beers that are only temporarily available each year. The brewery can be visited, and in the bar the available beers can be tasted. Open on Thursdays (13.00-18.00), Fridays and Saturdays (both 13.00-19.00). I have no idea if you can eat here too, the beer is more important.

Always a very busy place in the main shopping street of Amersfoort.
Why? Because all ages come here and it's child-friendly and has a living-room atmosphere.
I've had many a lunch here, or just a snack.
Favorite Dish: Lunches and dinners but also pancakes. Lots and lots of pancakes.
Main courses from € 8

This restaurant is located in an old cloister and also comprises of a brasserie, various private dining rooms, a magnificent center court for receptions, a culinary shop and culinary museum.
Valet parking available.
Favorite Dish: French gourmet cuisine is served here. Opinions always differ in the gourmet magazines it basically I find craftmanship and service are on a high level here.
I had an enjoyable and delicious meal of various courses.
Don't be mistaken: the brasserie is very posh, so it's not really a watered down version of the restaurant.
Once I had a theme dinner here in the basement of the building. The menu consisted of Roman dishes, prepared the way the Romans did in classical times. With explanation from a historian. Quite fun!

Onder de Linde is one of Amersfoort's famous "brown" pubs. It has a late gothic front, rebuilt in 1520.
