As said in the intro of this page. Nice to see, but a bit expensive for an only 45 minute tour especially when you have two kids and a wife along.
Entrance cards must be obtained through the website. It is not possible to book a tour at the palace's entrance.

The palace is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.15 to 17:30 hrs.

It's a kind of environmental centre of the dutch organisation Staatsbosbeheer, which is a government service that protects large areas of outstanding natural beauty in the Netherlands. If you expect a fully furnished castle you will be disappointed.
The castle is worth a visit, It has a small art collection of the ING bank, exposition on environment and a lot of do things for kids and several things that remember of the time people lived here.
Take a walk through the English Garden it is beautiful especially in Spring.
If you want to grab a nice lunch. Ther is a Grand Café in the Basement, which is nice and cosy and serves a decent lunch.

Kasteel Groeneveld is opened from Tuesday to Sunday from 11.00 hrs to 17.00 hrs.
