This is the University which is famous for Business school in Europe. I decided to study here from Oct 2004. The campus of this university is magnificent !
Fast of all, huge ! I have never seen an university which has a kind of zoo. Yes, you can see deer, goats, swans, ducks and peacocks ! I don't know that is neccessary, but definitely ease the mind of business school's students.
Additionaly, the campus has a castle ! You can feel the history of Europe in the entrance of Nyenrode university. Mmm, amazing....

Yes, it's quite different from Brooklyn along the Hudson ...
Breukelen is a village that is situated in the beautiful Vecht-valley and so holds very nice views over this little river running from Utrecht to Muiden (near Amsterdam). The village itself is already long time here, but the blossomingperiod came when many rich traders from Amsterdam seeked out the green clean environment along the shores of the river "Vecht" and built their mansions, teahouses and estates in parkstyle here. Of course Breukelen, as well as many other places along the small river, became a "royal" place to live and ... it never has lost that charm, though also commoners like you and I now can enjoy the beauty of this surroundings on a bike or boattour along or on the "Vecht".

Sadly enough most of the campus-terrains are restricted area for non-students. Nijenrode University holds the lands surrounding the castle in property and only lets students have the privilige to roam the park, castlelanes etc. From the river "Vecht" and the road that is running along it, you however can have a great view over the castlecanal towards the main building. It's graceful tower, the strong fortress-tower and the beautiful entrance-bridge leading to the gate. To have some impression about the castle, you also might check out my travellogue about it.

This monumental castle is the seat of the Nijenrode University, one of the highest business "institutes" in the world. In a parklike setting many buildings make up the university, but the highlight is for sure the late medieval castle that is situated on the banks of the little river "Vecht". Nijenrode delivers top-management to multinational corporations all over the world and has a very wellknown name in the world of business and economics.
